Diet, Exercise and Other Anti-aging Strategies that Work

In order to repair itself your body needs the necessary raw materials and a high level of operating efficiency. Eating a varied, low fat, high-fiber diet that contains plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and nuts; taking at least daily vitamin, mineral and anti-oxidant supplements; exercising regularly in ways that maintain good body strength, improve or keep-up your flexibility and cause you pulse to elevate to 70-80% of 220 minus your age for at least 12 minutes a minimum of 4 days per week; and practicing good stress control are the core of good health habits and a long life.  Getting enough sleep, having a good sex life, not smoking, not drinking or drinking in moderation only (2 drinks/day maximum), and having family and friends that act as a support system will provide a basis for optimal longevity.  Pets can also add years to your life, for other pointers check out the following sites.

Beyond Diet, Exercise and Emotional Balance

Recent research has shown that the hormones in our bodies also contribute largely to how we age.  Doctors used to believe that our hormone levels decline because we age, however, increasing numbers of clinical studies are leading physicians and scientist to the conclusion that because our hormone levels decline our bodies change in ways previously attributed to aging.  Evidence also shows that if more youthful hormone levels are restored many of these so-called aging effects are reversed.

Hormone Replacement Therapy

Hormone replacement therapy has the potential to help us avoid the typical symptoms of aging such as a decrease in muscle mass, concentration, memory and sexual interest and performance; an increase in body fat, especially centrally; higher risk of heart attack, stroke, cancer, blindness and diabetes; and a generally weakened immune system.  While this sounds too go to be true, each month more studies are published that back up these claims.  If hormone replacement therapy interests you, you may want to look at the following research and judge for yourself.

HGH (Human Growth Hormone)

One of the most promising of all the anti-aging treatments we have seen is human growth hormone – HGH.  HGH is a hormone produced in the brain in the anterior part of the pituitary gland. For many years HGH has been know to be vital to normal growth and development in children.  The first therapeutic use of HGH was to normalize growth and development in children who were failing to growth and develop due to the inability of their bodies to produce enough HGH.  However, it is now recognized that HGH is also a major factor in the repair and upkeep of adult bodies.  The problem is that HGH levels decline rapidly, often from age 20.  Some people decline more rapidly than others having levels in their 30’s and 40’s that most people don’t decline to until their 50’s or 60’s, but virtually everyone has totally inefficient levels by their 60’s or 70’s.  HGH therapy in adults has been shown to substantially reverse the apparent effects of aging.  People who increase their HGH levels lose fat and gain muscle even without dieting or exercising.  They heal faster, their bones become stronger, and they report a distinct boost in their energy levels.  Check out the following on how HGH can improve muscle mass, decreases central body fat and enhances the quality of life.
